My new sewing room!

We are closing in a covered porch on our new barn to make a sewing room.  The finished area will be 10' by 40'.  We worked all weekend and made some progress.

Quilting the SMQ wallhanging

I was intending some beautiful celtic circles and this is the result.  Alas not what I envisioned, due to my lack of skill.  Oh well, the wobbly, organic spirals are pleasing, if not perfect.  There is a uniformity of imperfection!  I am looking forward to hanging this one in my living room soon.

Fundraiser Raffle Quilt

This is for a local highschool fundraiser.  The school colors are red and black so that was the inspiration for the color choice.  I have the backing fabric...just need to put it together.  I need to come up with a label as well.  I am on schedule to have it completed by the end of April as promised.

Sunday Morning Quilting Bee round 2

Wall hanging flimsy is finished and awating quilting.  It measures about 36" x 48".  For this round each month we sew blocks for two people.  Those two will receive all their blocks in one month.  My month was February.  The quilts are inspired by the Sunday Morning Quilts book by Cheryl Arkison and Amanda Jean Nyberg.

I think I will be quilting a celtic circles pattern using green Aurifil (my favorite thread!).

Covert Robin swap gift received (and it's a beauty!)

Today I received this georgeous tote from Stacy at Freshly Handmade. You can check her out at  Www.freshlyhandmade.com.  What a great surprise. Don't you just love the polka dot handles? I sure do!  It has been so much fun participating in this swap. I can't wait to do it again next time.

Sunday Morning Quilts Bee round 1 Finished

Covert Robin Swap!

Here is my secret gift in the Covert Robin swap. I really like how it turned out!  The design  is a spin off from a pattern in Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison's book Sunday Morning Quilts. I used circle applique instead of leaves.  I hope my partner likes it.  I had no information on her tastes so I went with something I would like!  It has been fun to put together...I just wish I was not such a procrastinator.  I should have had this done weeks ago.
